Grandad was born in the 1867… and by 1912 he’d built the foundations of a business that’s still in the family… and still here in Hobart.
More than a century of learning we did. Grandpa and grandma training us kids. Decade on decade of changes we’ve seen. From toasters that burn, to cans of whipped cream. A pot on a fire, to microwaved meals. Meat safes to fridges and bags that self-seal. Stoves that burned wood, sometimes the food. To kettles that beep when the temperature’s good. Cast Iron, aluminium … non-stick, convection. Then back to cast iron … for pros, and home kitchens. Automatic tea makers before 1950! To café-style lattes at home. That’s Nifty! They taught us to help. Never to sell. And we’re still in business… that went well. Never sell products that let people down. It’s bad for business. Hobart’s a small town. We worked really hard.
